DESCRIPTION:Monthly Peacebuilding Skills Day\n\nMonthly Global Silent Walking for Peace
\nThird Sunday of Each Month \n\nPlease organize a walk wherever you are!
\n\nThese walks started in Jerusalem and other places around the world on
May 12, Mothers Day, 2002\n\nWe walk for ourselves. \nWe walk for
everyone… \nKiss the Earth with your feet. \nPrint on Earth your love
and happiness. \nEarth will be safe \nWhen we feel in us enough safety.

Press\n10AM--Noon--From Violence to Wholeness: Transformative Nonviolence
\nThis introduction to active nonviolence offers exercises and discussion
from \nPace e Bene's ten-part program in the spirituality and practice of
\ntransformative nonviolence. We will draw on our own experiences and
insights \nas well as the teachings, vision and actions of the Buddha,
Cesar Chavez, \nDorothy Day, Gandhi, Jesus, Martin Luther King, Jr., and
others. Through this \ninquiry into violence and nonviolence, we deepen our
willingness and capacity \nfor powerful, effective, creative nonviolent
action, using "person power" \nand "people power" for the benefit of all,
in these challenging times. \n1PM-3PM--Nonviolent Communication \nPlease
join us for an introduction to the practice of Nonviolent \nCommunication
(NVC). Using NVC helps create the kind of connection that \nallows the
needs of all parties to be met peacefully through compassionate \ngiving.
Key NVC concepts include empathy and expression; distinguishing \nbetween
observation and evaluation; seeing the connection between feelings \nand
needs; making requests without demand energy; and expressing gratitude
\nand appreciation. \n4PM--6PM-Walking for Peace in Silence (see above)

 \nBerkeley Senior Center\n7:30PM - 8:45PM (ending time flexible!)--Songs
