DESCRIPTION:In Back from Iraq, four U.S. soldiers from the front lines of the Iraq war
reveal what the media won't tell you. This powerful documentary is a
candid look at the war in Iraq, seen through the eyes of the people
fighting it. These veterans tell how the war in Iraq is being waged and
help the audience understand the costs being borne by both soldiers and
civilians: - Joseph Mahfouz, an army mechanic forced to fight on the front
lines. - Patrick Resta, a National Guardsman caught between military
orders and the humanitarian rights of soldiers and civilians. - Jimmy
Massey, a Marine Staff Sergeant and former Parris Island Trainer confronted
with the stark realities of war and the killing of civilians. - Jeff Key,
a Marine Lance Corporal guided by his Southern upbringing and deep
religious conviction. Their stories from Iraq, perceptions of the war,
insights into the media, and concerns about U.S. national security will
leave you at once informed and horrified about U.S. involvement in Iraq.
The film will be followed by a discussion with Diana Morrison, co-founder
of Iraq Veterans Against the War. Morrison is a California National Guard
Staff Sergeant who served in Iraq and has been a vocal opponent of the war
ever since her return to the U.S. $7 - $15 suggested donation. Sponsored
by Peninsula Peace and Justice Center. For more information, contact PPJC
