DESCRIPTION:Dorothy Naor, born in San Francisco in 1932, has made Israel her home since
1958. She will speak of her years of activism against the Israeli
Occupation. She is a member of New Profile, a pluralist feminist
organization of men and women that seeks to transform Israel from a
militaristic society to a civil one. New Profile supports refusal to serve
in the military, opposes the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories,
and supports selective divestment from companies that contribute to
maintaining the occupation. New Profile opposes and seeks non-violent
means of ending the Occupation on three counts. One, its destruction of
Palestinian life, society, land, and property. Two, its role in maintaining
militarism in Israel. And three, its erosion of Israel's socio-economic and
moral fabric. 7:00 pm, Tuesday, March 21 at the Friends Meeting House,
225 Rooney St., Santa Cruz. Free, public is welcome. For directions
