 three hundred demonstrators in Garden Grove protested the appearance \n     
  of Jim Gilchrist, the Minutemen founder. Demonstrators ringed the building 
 \n      for hours, spoiling the Minutemen's planned media event. Police 
 responded \n      with horses, SWAT Teams, and clubs. A Minutemen supporter 
 and known racist, \n      Hal Netkin, drive his van into the crowd , but 
 police attacked and arrested \n      demonstrators trying to help the 
 injured, rather than arresting the assailant.\n    Five \n      
 demonstrators were arrested. In jail, one was stripped and beaten by 
 sheriffs, \n      while cops taunted the young man with racist insults.\n

 originally charged with "assault with a deadly weapon on a police \n    
 officer" for allegedly throwing open soda cans. Two still face felonies \n  
   and are going to trial. Police testimony at their preliminary hearing was 
 \n    filled with absurd accusations and lies. A potential defense witness 
 was threatened \n    with arrest if she testified, as a cop suddenly 
 "remembered" her \n    being at the demonstration also.\n  Immigrant \n    
 workers are under severe attack in this country, the cutting edge of a 
 transition \n    to a police state. The Minutemen are gutter racists, but 
 they have high-level \n    government support, addressing a Congressional 
 committee and being feted \n    at Congressional receptions. Corporations 
 make billions from paying immigrants \n    substandard wages, made possible 
 by terrorizing "illegal" workers.\n\n\n\n
