DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday February 15, members of UNITE HERE Local 2 will be joined by 
 community allies and other Bay Area workers in launching the Hotel Workers 
 Rising campaign. Hotel Workers Rising represents an effort to empower 
 thousands of hotel workers employed in cities across North America as they 
 work to improve their jobs and secure better lives for themselves and their 
 families.  Since the autumn of 2004, 8000 San Francisco hotel workers have 
 gone without a contract, resisting the hotel corporations' attempts to chip 
 away at their benefits, and to split them off from their sisters and 
 brothers in other North American cities. Now, in 2006, Local 2 members are 
 beginning the next stage in this campaign -- alongside hotel workers in 
 Toronto, New York, Hawaii, Chicago, Sacramento, Monterey, Los Angeles,
