DESCRIPTION:PENTAGON OF PEACE Open Mic! Presented by Tom Rudderow Today is
Valentine’s Day! Celebrate love with poetry and song! Consider that St.
Valentine was a priest who believed that love was a higher power than the
Roman Emporer, Claudius the Cruel. St. Valentine was executed for opposing
the Emporer’s decree that no one could marry during wartime and secretly
marrying people. We celebrate St. Valentine’s day to remind ourselves
that love IS a higher power. This evening, Redbird Giving will share their
Native American/contemporary music fusion; dancer Shantee Spearman will
dance with body and words; Mary Rudge, Poet Laureate of Alameda, will read
her poetry; and Isabell Zeviar and Tom Rudderow will sing their own
original folk songs while playing acoustic guitar. Everyone is invited to
participate -- the microphones will be open to all! Bring your own poetry,
songs, dances, prayers, performances, and healthy snacks to share and
celebrate love and peace with loving people this evening.\n
