 When: Friday, February 3, 2006, 7:30 to midnight  Where: The Oakland Lake 
 Merritt Sailboat House, 568 Bellevue Ave.  Contribution: $60 per person 
 minimum  Advance Reservations   Required - We cannot sell tickets at the 
 door!  Please join us for a NORML benefit party to help support a new NORML 
   West Coast office in Oakland, the home of Measure Z, California's   
 pioneering initiative for legalized adult use of cannabis.  The politics of 
 marijuana law reform in California are changing every   day, with some real 
 progress being made. However, as the recent raids   of several patient 
 support groups in San Diego reminded us, progress   seldom occurs without 
 some setbacks, and our opponents will continue   to try to undermine the 
 will of the voters in California who   overwhelmingly approved Prop. 215 in 
 1996.  It is our responsibility to fight these efforts in every way   
 possible, and to do more: we need to once again find our voice for   the 
 proposition that no one should be treated as a criminal because   of their 
 personal use of marijuana, regardless of whether it is for   medical use or 
 for personal enjoyment.  Since 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the 
 public policy debates   for marijuana smokers. We are the marijuana smokers 
 lobby in America   and we are proud to say: There is absolutely nothing 
 wrong with the   responsible use of marijuana by adults, and it should be 
 of no   interest or concern to the government. There is nothing wrong with  
  adults smoking pot.  If you agree with NORML, please attend our upcoming 
 party in Oakland   and help us change these laws once and for all. If you 
 cannot attend   in person, please consider making a special contribution 
 now to help   NORML move the marijuana legalization agenda forward in 
 California   and all across the country.  We'll have live music, catered 
 food, and an open bar. Bring a couple   of friends and join us for a
