DESCRIPTION:The keynote speaker for the dinner will be LaDonna Redmond, a Chicago-based 
 food security activist. She is the President and CEO of the Institute for 
 Community Resource Development, a non-profit, community-based organization 
 that assists residents of urban communities obtain access to safe, healthy 
 food through the development of alternative food systems. Ms. Redmond and 
 her husband Tracey operate an urban farm in partnership with the University 
 of Illinois.  LaDonna also serves on the Food First board.  Economic and 
 social human rights awards will be given to three organizations that 
 promote positive ways of obtaining food security for all.  Mangaliso 
 Kubheka will accept an award on behalf of the Via Campesina, the largest 
 and fastest growing farmer organization in the world with chapters in 56 
 countries.  An award will also be presented to the Coalition of Immokalee 
 Workers, the farm worker organizers who recently won the first wage 
 increase for Florida tomato pickers in 25 years by campaigning against the 
 corporation that buys the most tomatoes in the U.S.—Yum brands, the 
 parent company of Taco Bell.  The third organization recognized for their 
 innovation in bringing high quality, reasonably-priced produce to 
 low-income neighborhoods in Berkeley is the Farm Fresh Produce program of
