DESCRIPTION:Sara Halprin, author of Seema's Show: A Life on the Left, will sign at
Modern Times Bookstore, October 18 at 7:30 PM. Her book is a biography of
Seema Weatherwax who hung out with the likes of Woody Guthrie, Imogene
Cunningham, and Edward Weston and was an assistant to Ansel Adams. Seema
was also a member of the communist party and active in progressive
politics, civil rights campaigns, and the California peace and justice
movement. In fact, she was a board member of the California NAACP and is
still involved in Santa Cruz with the local peace movement. At 95 years
