 Description:\n*******************************************************************\n\nAnnouncing 
 a street medic and affinity group medic training weekend \nat  California 
 Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA, \nNovember 
 2-4.\n\nThis two-and-a-half-day training course will cover street first aid 
 \nand chemical weapons decontamination protocol, as well as extensive 
 \nroleplays and assessment. Designed as a complete introduction to \nbasic 
 action medical knowledge and skills, completion of this course \nwill 
 prepare you to serve as a street medic at upcoming political 
 \nactions.\n\n-Everyone is invited.\n-No medical or first aid training or 
 experience required.\n-Sliding-scale donations appreciated ($20 
 suggested.)\n\n\nNovember 2 (Fri.) 6pm-10pm\n\nChemical Weapons (4 
 hours):\n        Covers a review of current chemical agents in use (CN, CS, 
 \nOC, and CR), a discussion of personal protection gear (gas masks, 
 \nrespirators, etc), and a complete introduction to tear gas and pepper 
 \nspray decontamination and treatment protocols with demonstrations, 
 \nhands-on practice and role-plays.\n\n\nNovember 3 (Sat.) 
 9am-7pm\n\nStreet First Aid (10 Hours):\n        This extensive 
 introductory training provides essential first \naid knowledge, as applied 
 to actual street experience at mass \ndemonstrations and direct actions. 
 Includes treatment protocols for \ntrauma, weather-related llness, and much 
 more, with numerous hands-on \npracticals. Friday evening and Saturday 
 provide the complete course \nfor Affinity Group Medics.\n\n\nNovember 4 
 (Sun.) 9am-7pm\n\nStreet Medic Operations (4 Hours):\n        Introduction 
 to how street medics function in the field. \nBegins with presentation and 
 discussion of codes of conduct and \nethics, team makeup & teamwork, 
 calling for backup, and dealing with \npolice/EMS. Includes how/when to 
 move patients (practicals) and how \nto conduct triage.\n\nStreet Medic 
 RolePlays (5 Hours):\n        Participants play one of three roles (police, 
 protestors, \nstreet medics) during several roleplays intended to simulate 
 \ndemonstration environments. Each roleplay is evaluated. This \nfast-paced 
 and energetic training is where medics make mistakes, \ninstead of in the 
 field!\n\nBasic Medic Skills Evaluation (1 Hour):\n        Opportunity for 
 those who wish to further practice and hone \ntheir skills; hands-on 
 practicals where instructors can offer \none-on-one evaluation.\n\n\nSpace
