 economic forces of globalization are spreading, spaces have opened within 
 international discussions.  In response, Native peoples have been refining 
 their activism, creating networks and alliances, and affecting far-reaching 
 international policies, while still answering to their home communities.

 Our guests will be coming to San Francisco after attending the Permanent 
 Forum on Indigenous Issues at the United Nations (New York), where they are 
 regular and vocal participants.  They will share with us their perspectives 
 on the local-international dynamic of Indigenous organizing for 
 self-determination, as well as offer news and insights from this important
