DESCRIPTION:The Electoral College is not the sexiest subject for a movie. But the
election of 2000 put it on the front page for a while, because the outcome
was more than a little dubious. And 2000 wasn’t the first time there were
some doubts about our voting process. There’s the 1960 Kennedy vs. Nixon
campaign, George Wallace’s attempted manipulation of the Electoral
College in 1968 and prior elections when the popular vote did not prevail.
Matt Kohn’s film is an illuminating, engrossing, passionate, unpreachy
and non-partisan look at the longstanding need to address issues like
voters’ rights and election reform. The interviewees include Greg Palast,
Vincent Bugliosi, Alan Dershowitz, Former Senator Birch Bayh and many
others. Some it, frankly, will blow your mind. PANELISTS are Kim
Alexander - the California Voter's Foundation (focus on electronic voting)
Jack Rakove - 1997 Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in History for his book
"Original Meanings" Richard Winger - of Ballot Access News - expert of
Ballot Access for Third Parties WE ALSO HAVE A SCREENING AT THE WOMEN'S
THEATER ON THE 21st with a panel featuring David Dill - creator of
Verifiedvoting.org and Kim Zetter of Wired News\n
