DESCRIPTION:Guest curated by Pietro Ferrua, founder of the International Center for
 Research on Anarchism Fridays, May 6, 13, 20 & 27, 7 & 9 pm •
Screening Room $8 regular, $5 YBCA members, seniors & students Behold a
Pale Horse by Fred Zinnemann (1964, 118 min, 35mm) Fri, May 20, 7 pm
Based on E. Pressberger’s novel “Killing a Mouse on Sunday,” the film
is set at the end of the Spanish Civil War. Manuel Artiguez goes into exile
in France, but continues to carry out guerilla forays into Spain. Twenty
years later a young boy, Paco, tries to persuade a now-apathetic Manuel to
kill a vicious Spanish police chief Vinolas. Manuel is tricked into coming
back to Spain to see his dying mother, with Vinolas using a priest to lure
him… Emma Goldman: An Exceedingly Dangerous Woman by Mel
Bucklin (2004, 82 min, Beta SP) Fri, May 20, 9:15 pm This documentary is
a perfect introduction into the life of this Russian immigrant and later,
ex-patriot, Emma Goldman. Feared in the U.S. as a sponsor of anarchy and
revolution, she was vilified in the press as "Red Emma," "Queen of the
Anarchists," and "the most dangerous woman in America".\n
