DESCRIPTION:In early June 2005, the annual United Nations' World Environment Day will 
 take place in San Francisco, featuring five days of exciting cultural and 
 artistic events, special workshops and community discussions focused on 
 improving conditions in our thriving urban centers.  Circle of Life, the 
 Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Sustainable Village Enterprises, and 
 the Sustainable World Coalition is co-hosting a panel and interactive 
 community discussion entitled "Bridging the Social Justice & Environmental 
 Movements: Now Is the Time."  WHEN: Friday, June 3, 1 - 4:30 pm  WHERE: 
 Southeast Community Facility, Alex L. Pitcher Community Room, 1800 Oakdale 
 Ave, San Francisco  People across the globe are experiencing the impacts of 
 development in their communities and on their local environments. What do 
 people affected by these changes have to say? This civic gathering will 
 provide a forum for people to relay their experiences and place them in the 
 context of how we can learn to work together more effectively and 
 powerfully to build the just and sustainable world we all want to live in.  
 By recognizing new possibilities for mutual collaboration, we can move 
 ahead toward common goals and objectives. This means actively meeting and 
 strategizing together, learning from one another's experiences, 
 collaborating on vital projects, and looking at the bigger context and 
 areas of intersection between social justice and environmental protection. 
 Come join Julia Butterfly Hill, Van Jones, selected international mayors, 
 and Bayview Hunters Point residents for a lively panel discussion, followed
