DESCRIPTION:Jeffrey Blankfort will present his Left Curve political journal article at
the Left Curve journal, Issue #29, release party!: "Damage Control: Noam
Chomsky & the Israel-Palestine Conflict" Blankfort rhetorically takes on
Chomsky - an icon of contemporary progressives - and demonstrates the
shortcomings of Chomsky's analysis that, "Israel serves a strategic asset
for the U.S. and that the Israeli lobby, primarily AIPAC, is little more
than a pressure group like any other trying to affect U.S. policy in the
Middle East." Noam Chomsky's contribution to a forceful critique of the
unsavory record of U.S. foreign policy is well known. Less well known are
his contradictory views on the Israel-Palestine conflict – and, lastly,
the probably reason why. See Blankfort's article:
 http://www.leftcurve.org/LC29WebPages/Chomsky.html Jeffrey Blankfort is
a long-time veteran professional photojournalist from the '60's; a San
Francisco, Mendocino County, and Houston community FM radio journalist-host
 (currently on KPOO.com, 89.5 FM, KZYX.org, and KPFT.org); a Bay Area
veteran Free Speech Movement, Civil Rights Movement, anti-Vietnam War
movement, and anti-Apartheid movement activist; a former editor of the
 Middle East Labor Bulletin; a Jewish-American, anti-Zionist,
pro-Palestinian human rights activist; a public lecturer; and has written
extensively on the Israel-Palestine conflict and the domestic pro-Israel
lobby. (Google, "Blankfort" for more articles/coverage.) ALSO, Left
Curve editor Csaba Polony and several other contributors present/read from
their essays, stories, or poetry in the latest issue of one of the West
Coast’s best – nationally and internationally edited – journals of
political and cultural analysis. http://www.leftcurve.org Release
party: 7:00 – 9:00pm or whenever..., until close! Left Curve is an
artist-produced journal that addresses the problems of cultural forms
emerging from the crises of modernity that strive to be independent from
the control of dominant institutions and free from the shackles of
instrumental rationality. Their orientation is premised on the recognition
of the destructiveness of commodity systems to all life, and the need to
build a culture that could potentially create a more harmonious
relationship among people, and between the human and natural world. They
encourage open, critical, defetishized work that attempts to unravel, and
 reveal contemporary (inner/outer) reality.\n
