 Easy Lessons   Alexander Cockburn, noted author and columnist, will reveal 
 “How to Change the World, In Six Easy Lessons” on Friday, May 20, 2005 
 at 7 p.m. at the Coloma Community Center Auditorium, 4623 T Street, 
 Sacramento.   Born and raised in Ireland, Cockburn has lived in the United 
 States since 1973. Across two decades he has established a reputation as 
 one of the foremost reporters and commentators of the left. Cockburn’s 
 areas of interest include the political scene, economics, the environment, 
 labor issues and international policy.   He is co-editor with Jeffrey St. 
 Clair of the twice-monthly muckraking newsletter CounterPunch, whose web 
 site, http://www.counterpunch.org, now has an audience in the millions. The 
 author of a bi-weekly column for The Nation called “Beat the Devil.” 
 Cockburn also writes a syndicated newspaper column that is distributed 
 nationally.   In 1987, Cockburn wrote a highly successful collection of 
 essays, some autobiographical, entitled Corruptions of Empire, for which he 
 was called the “most gifted polemicist now writing in English” by the 
 Times Literary Supplement.   More recently he has coauthored, with Jeffrey 
 St. Clair, the best-selling “Whiteout: the Press, Drugs and the CIA”; 
 “The Politics of Anti-Semitism”; “Imperial Crusades: Yugoslavia, 
 Afghanistan, Iraq”; “Serpents in the Garden: Essays on Culture and 
 Sex”; and “Dimes Worth of Difference: Beyond the Lesser of Two 
 Evils.” He lives in Humboldt County in Northern California.   This 
 special event is presented by the Sacramento Community Forum. The donation
