DESCRIPTION:Jews Against Circumcision (http://www.jewsagainstcircumcision.org ) and Bay
Area Intactivist Group ( http://www.motherlove.org/bang ) will be
protesting at the ACOG convention in San Francisco in May. The protest will
be from May 7th through the 11th in front of the Moscone Center on Howard
St. between 3rd and 4th Streets. We will assemble at 7:30 A.M. each
morning. ACOG (American Academy of Obstetricians Gynecologists) is
responsible for 60% of male circumcisions in the USA. They refuse to allow
NOCIRC to exhibit at their convention because they don't consider
circumcision to be a woman's health issue. It is ironic that a medical
organization dedicated to protecting female health and sexuality routinely
harms males. The United States is the only country in the world to
routinely circumcise its boys at birth. Two out of every three infants
circumcised world wide are from the United States. 85 % of men globally are
intact and do not undergo sexual amputation. There is not a medical society
in the world that recommends circumcision, not even the American Academy of
Pediatrics. Each circumcision amputates 50% or more of penile
nerves, 100% of the most sensitive, erogenous nerves and amputates the
frenulum - the natural trigger for ejaculation. Routine infant circumcision
is always done on a non-consenting child and most often performed without
anesthesia. On average, 300 children die in the United States annually from
circumcision and 6 boys lose their entire penis. Please join us at
the ACOG protest and help to protect male sexuality and health.\n
