 Security is NOT in crisis.  The shortfall, if it really exists, could be 
 solved by simply having people pay payroll tax on ALL their income, rather 
 than just the first $90,000.\n\nNo reductions in benefits are acceptable, 
 now or in the future.  Huge reductions in future benefits are planned 
 whether there’s privatization or not.\n\nWe won’t sell out our kids for 
 the empty promise that current recipients won’t be touched.  The 
 transition to privatized accounts would cost $1-2 trillion dollars, which 
 the government plans to borrow and make our kids pay.\n\nSocial Security 
 administrative fees are less than 1% of its funds.  Privatized individual 
 accounts would charge 20-30% of our money in administrative fees.\n\nSocial 
 Security is an assured benefit, not a risky investment.People’s life 
 savings could be wiped out if they had to retire while the stock market is 
 down.\n\nSocial Security favors those with lower incomes, particularly 
 women and people of color.  Private personal accounts favor the well-off
