DESCRIPTION:On January 29th and 30th, young people from throughout the Central Valley 
 will be convening at the 2nd annual Central Valley Youth Organizing 
 Conference at California State University, Sacramento.  Escuelas Si! Pintas 
 No! Youth Organizing for Equal Justice and Education seeks to bring 
 together young people and youth organizers from throughout the Central 
 Valley to share experience and strategy for community change. Whether you 
 are a youth looking to get involved or an organization already on the 
 ground and running with youth, we invite you to join us for these two days 
 of skills, knowledge building, and campaign planning.  The purpose of the 
 conference is to help facilitate the building of a stronger multicultural 
 youth movement in the Central Valley by focusing on the following goals:  
 Conference Goals include:  -Discover the power that young people have when 
 working collectively  -Create a space for youth voice for interaction and 
 strategizing  -Present new ways of looking at issues including Environment, 
 Youth Justice, Health, and Education  -Teach and reflect on the skills and 
 theory of organizing, such as the utilization of action research and 
 popular education as tools for youth organizers  -Showcase resources, build 
 networks, and link current efforts  -Link grass-roots struggle to 
 systemic/policy change  -Assess and document the state of youth organizing 
 in the Central Valley.  Housing is available. Registration by January 8th,
