DESCRIPTION:Job Announcement  Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) Coordinator  The Resource 
 Center for Nonviolence (RCNV), in Santa Cruz California, seeks a new staff 
 person to work with youth to collaborate, coach, and support youth aged 
 14-26 (with a particular emphasis on high school youth) who are developing 
 nonviolent action for social change, creating alternatives to violence and 
 militarism, and building alliances across cultural and ethnic communities 
 in Santa Cruz County.  Half-time position- 20 hours per week, flexible. 
 Salary:  $1200 per month.  Benefits:  2 weeks paid vacation, health 
 insurance and a possible housing option.  Qualifications:    * Demonstrated 
 experience as a community organizer with particular skills in successful 
 work with 		young people and youth-oriented organizations.  * Oral and 
 written communication skills in both English and Spanish.  * A demonstrated 
 commitment to nonviolence.  * A willingness to commit no less than two 
 years to effective community organization in the           		establishment
