Against a compelling backdrop of Environmental art, Natural World
Museum's Film series shows compelling documentaries and movies with an
environmental message. NWM seeks to promote film as an organizing media
for people to engage in a social movement demanding global
 sustainability. ------------------------------------------------------
THE GODS MUST BE CRAZY I Directed by the South African Jamie Uys, this
slaphappy collection of goofy pratfalls and culture-clash gags became an
enormous international smash. A Coke bottle dropped from an airplane
disrupts the quiet life of a family of African Bushmen living in the
deep isolation of the Kalahari desert. N!Xau, the head of the family,
takes the evil thing and embarks on a journey to the end of the world to
return it to the gods. At the same time a white teacher is fed up with
city life and takes a job in Botswana. She meets a shy and bumbling
scientist. Their adventures and misadventures are intertwined with
N!Xau's journey. From the perspective of sustainability, this film
provides comic relief and a lighthearted view on the disruptions that
globalization, symbolized by the ubiquitous Coke bottle, can have on
 traditional societies.

Francisco’s emerging Natural World Museum is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to showcase educational art exhibitions

 ======================================================  Art is the
signature of civilization and the cornerstone of conservation. From the
paintings of Robert Bateman, to the indigenous objects of Native
Americans to the soundscapes of Bernie Krause, the message is loud and
clear ~ nature’s beauty is fragile and finite.
