DESCRIPTION:The atrocities witnessed by the world on September 11th were hateful acts
of terrorists who chose to view their victims not as people but as symbols
of perceived evil. "Brothers and Others" tells the stories of Arabs,
Muslims and South Asians jailed without evidence or due process in the wake
of the tragedy and asks, by imprisoning thousands of innocent people on the
basis of their ethnic or religious affiliation, is the American government
perpetuating the cycle of ignorance and hate which claimed so many innocent
lives? The film will be followed by a discussion led by Samina Faheem,
founder of American Muslim Voice, an organization that seeks to bridge the
gap between Muslim communities and other communities in the U.S. and to
uphold civil liberties for all. $5 - $10 suggested donation; sponsored by
World Centric (http://www.worldcentric.org), Peninsula Peace and Justice
Center (http://www.peaceandjustice.org), and Peace Umbrella of the
Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto (http://www.uucpa.org). \n
