DESCRIPTION:A press conference sponsored by United for No Injustice, Oppression or
Neglect, will be held on Monday, September 13 at 1 pm in front of the Hall
of Justice, 600 Union Ave., in Fairfield, CA. A lawsuit is being filed
Monday morning by Beverly Hills Attorney Mark Ravis in the Federal Eastern
District Court in Sacramento against California Medical Facility and all
parties responsible for the death of Inmate Donald Swisher on April 4,
2004. Swisher, a mentally ill inmate, was 34 years old and leaves
behind five children who live in Merced. His mother, Beverly Bittner, has
flown out here from Indiana and will describe how she and his cellmates
begged the prison to give Donald simple medical treatment and they refused.
The cause of Swisher's death was pneumonia. Families of other inmates
who have died under suspicious circumstances will also be present including
Rev. Andre Shumake whose nephew died at CSP Solano in June. The body of yet
another deceased inmate, Ursel Ware, is in the coroner's office undergoing
"autopsy" since Aug. 19 and next of kin information has been closed down by
CDC on this case, so we've had no way to get in touch with the family.
The UNION Coalition of doctors, nurses, teachers, social workers, members
of the clergy from every denomination and families of prisoners are
standing up to rail against State Murder by Medical Neglect. Three
deaths since April in Solano County alone THAT WE KNOW ABOUT. At issue
here also is bills on the Governor's desk for Media Access, Medical Neglect
Reform and compassionate release. In spite of all these deaths flying
under the radar of the media, the Governor is not expect to sign the
medical neglect reform bill by Mountjoy. email rightor1@aol.com for
press release Contact B. Cayenne Bird, UNION Director parking is
bad, because the new county facility is currently under construction and
the parking structure hasn't opened yet. So you'll have to have everyone
park on the far end of Union Avenue, where it dead-ends, because that's
where everyone parks. It's a little bit of a hike (three or four blocks.)
If you're coming in on Interstate 80 from the Bay Area, you want to take
the West Texas Street exit toward Fairfield/Suisun City. Stay straight to
go onto West Texas Street.Turn right on Union Avenue. 600 UNION is the
address If you're coming in on Interstate 80 from Sacramento, you want to
take Travis Blvd. East. Turn left onto Travis Blvd. Turn right onto
Pennsylvania. Turn left onto West Texas, and then right onto Union. Hall
of Justice 600 Union Avenue Fairfield, CA 94533 Map and Directions
Try to arrive at 12:45 if possible. Front steps, I will have a small sign
that reads UNION Press Conference, will be dressed in black, red hair,
stick out like a sore thumb. --------- These are a few of the people who
have confirmed so far. Beverly Bittner, mother of Donald Swisher who has
flown out from Indiana for the press conference. She literally begged and
begged for medical treatment for her son and was ignored. The five
children of Donald Swisher from Merced. Mark Ravis, MD, JD who will file

inmate currently being tortured in prison and prosecuted simply for being
mentally ill and acting out through writing a simple letter Linda G.,
mother of a mentally ill inmate currently being released from EOP to
general population where his life is in mortal danger. Harvey and Lettie

Union representing CDC registered nurses Ron Petersen, videographer for
our show Cayenne Common Sense The Reporter will be sending a photographer
and possibly a journalist to the event I will put this out on the wire
soon but am still waiting for confirmation from families that we have still
been able to locate of other deceased inmates. Senator Mountjoy has been
invited no confirmation yet. We may have other groups, other clergy in
attendance as well - let me know whom you have invited, how many you are
bringing and especially family contact information on inmates who have
died suspicious deaths within the past year. CDC really has the information
hidden away from the press but with our network of families in the UNION,
we should be able to track them down. Let's all hold hands now and take a
stand at this rare moment in time when we are able to show intelligence and
teeth and file a lawsuit. http://www.1union1.com/com.html B. Bird
