 includes a number of exciting new events:  Fashion Show: featuring Fall 
 Fashions from local boutiques  Art Cars: fun & fabulous art cars along the 
 1300 block  Photography Contest: we challenge you to “find the love” in 
 North Beach!  Food & Drink specials: offered by neighborhood bars & 
 restaurants  • Children’s activities, including singing songs and 
 reading stories, will be held all day at Live Worms Art Gallery in Upper 
 Grant Avenue  • Fair celebrates 50 years as San Francisco’s first

 artistic spirit and cultural vitality of North Beach, The Upper Grant 
 Avenue Fall Art Fair rekindles a popular tradition that began in 1954 
 during the height of the "Beat Generation".   The community-based, 
 artist-run fair selects more than 100 local artists to fill three colorful 
 blocks of world-famous Upper Grant Avenue with original creative arts and 
 handcrafted works, including sculpture, photography, ceramics, installation 
 art, painting, jewelry, glass works, clothing and textile arts. A fashion 
 show featuring local merchants’ distinct jewelry, clothing and décor 
 offerings, is a new event for 2004. A diverse mix of literary and 
 performing artists -- from poets, authors and jazz musicians to 
 troubadours, storytellers, and clowns -- entertains fairgoers on Upper 
 Grant Avenue between Vallejo and Filbert Streets.  \n
