DESCRIPTION:An Invitation to Celebrate the Sneak-Preview, World-Premiere Screening of:
 There’s Something About W When: Tuesday, August 3rd, 8 p.m. (doors open
at 7) Where: The Roda Theatre at the Berkeley Rep, 2015 Addison St.
 (between Shattuck and Milvia), downtown Berkeley (one block from BART;
across Addison from $5 parking). It's the sumptuously large, new theatre at
the Berkeley Rep, which is not associated with our film in any way. Please
join Robin Chin, John Grimes, Louise Rubacky and comedian/MC Johnny Steele
in celebrating the sneak-preview launch of this wry and provocative
40-minute film by over 40 Bay area filmmakers and associates. Narrated by
Peter Coyote and with a lively blend of analyses and humor, There's
Something About W examines the promises and policies of the Bush
presidency. You'll hear from the President, in his own words, with
commentary by Molly Ivins, Paul Krugman, Al Franken, Arianna Huffington,
Bill Maher, Daniel Ellsberg, Connie Rice, Kevin Phillips, Will Durst,
Daniel Ellsberg, David Cay Johnston, Norman Solomon, MoveOn.org's Joan
Blades and Eli Pariser, Charles Lewis, Rock the Vote's Jehmu Greene, Johnny
Steele, Bill Santiago, UC Berkeley's Helen Halpin, TrueMajority.org's
Andrew Greenblatt, Michael Moore and more. The screening also features
election-year shorts by other Bay area filmmakers: "One Vote" by Deborah
Hoffmann, Frances Reid & Don Goldmacher; "Seniors for Peace" segment by
David Brown; a trailer about UCB linguist George Lakoff by Haydn Reiss; and
clever animation by Mark Fiore. A donation of $10 to $20 or more is
requested. Since the cost of the event has been underwritten by Mike
Schaefer, your contributions will be used precisely where they can do the
most good in the 17+ swing states through distribution of thousands of DVDs
and tapes for community screenings and house parties. As an all-volunteer,
non-profit project, the combination of your financial support and our
talented crew makes for a potent dose of grassroots education and
democracy. Please make checks payable to Robin & John Productions, LLC. No
one will be turned away for lack of funds, but seating is limited to 600.
Sorry, no credit cards. Producer/Director/Co-Editor/Writer Robin Chin has
worked on documentaries for Frontline, Bill Moyers and the Center for
 Investigative Reporting. Co-Producer/Writer/Cartoonist John Grimes
daydreams about November 3rd when he can sit back, smile and draw again.
Co-Director/Co-Editor/Writer Louise Rubacky has edited for Francis Ford
Coppola, George Lucas and Phil Tippett, among others. More Info: Visit
