 an intense lecture, round table discussion and craft talk, (participant 
 poems will not be discussed).  He will discuss new work by Jack Gilbert as 
 well as the poems of Arthur Vogelsang and Marianne Moore (amongst others) 
 and how his reading is related to his writing, current and past.  
 Discussion will be heartily encouraged.  It is an opportunity for working 
 poets (and working readers) to hear how others read and write.  Besides 
 being a gifted poet, Gerald Stern is a wonderful lecturer and teacher who 
 never needs to “let his hair down.”     Date: May 1, 2004     Time:
