 Does war stimulate the economy?   Is military spending taking money away 
 from social programs?   Does militarism increase inequality?   Can we cut 
 military spending?     This participatory interactive workshop explores the 
 impact of war and militarism on the US economy, examines militarism from 
 race, gender, and class perspectives, and demonstrates how war and 
 militarism drain resources from basic family and community needs.  The War 
 & the Economy workshop features a variety of learning activities that 
 include live illustrations of economic trends, mini-presentations, and 
 small group discussions.  What should our national priorities be?    What 
 values should guide our foreign and military policies?   1 Cluster Bomb or 
 2 Kids in Head Start?   1 Stealth Bomber or 28,000 Affordable Housing 
 Units?   1 Day of War in Iraq or Health Care for 180,000 People?
