DESCRIPTION:...from Iraq to Palestine, making the connections March 12th, 2004
 6:30-8:00pm Women's Building, 3543 18th St. #8, Auditorium As the
Occupation of Iraq continues to look more and more like the Occupation of
Palestine, from barbed wire fences surrounding whole cities, the plowing
down of farmers fields, thousands of house to house raids of "suspected
resisters", to the indiscriminate killing of Iraqis, there is a question in
the US anti-war movement, can we be against the Occupation of Iraq without
taking up the Occupation of Palestine? Please join us for this open
forum, as we look at the connections between the occupation of Palestine
and Iraq, the history of Israel's occupation of Palestine and Palestinian
resistance, and why the US government spends billions of dollars a year to
fund the Israeli Military Forces and support Israel. There will be an
interactive and open forum for discussion, debate and questions following
the speakers. Please come out to listen, question and discuss these
important issues that will help to propel the US anti-war movement forward
as we strengthen our politics! Speakers: Jess Ghannam is a
psychoanalyst and a professor at the University of California-San
Francisco. Dr. Ghannam is a grassroots activist and member of Al-Awda San
Francisco and The Palestine Right to Return Coalition's executive
committee. He current serves as the president of the San Francisco
 American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee. Toufic Haddad is a
Palestinian activist from Ramallah. He is co-founder and co-editor of
'Between the Lines', a monthly alternative english-language magazine, a
critical political perspective of the Oslo process and the apartheid
reality which has been established in its wake. He currently resides in San
Francisco and is a member of the International Socialist Organization.
Noura Khouri is a member Mission for Peace and a the The International
Solidarity Movement. She recently traveled to Palestine and participated in
direct action with ISM. Sponsored by: Al-Awda, American Muslim Voice,
Free Palestine Alliance, International Socialist Organization, Mission for
Peace, Pakistan American Alliance, San Francisco American-Arab
Anti-Discrimination Committee, and more to come. For more info please
