 Why not? There seems to be very little going on this Monday nite, and 
 Ashkenaz could use some money.\n\nAshkenaz has been rented out for a 
 fundraiser to\nbenefit Ashkenaz this coming Monday, December 29, 2003.  We 
 will be asking for a very modest\nsliding-scale donation at the door. We 
 will be\nproviding Berkeley organic wine, Berkeley brewed beer, and other 
 goodies. There will be a silent auction as well so if you want to donate an 
 item or bid on some great stuff, come early. All proceeds go to benefit 
 Ashkenaz.\n\nFor the latest info on the event,

 ROUGH SCHEDULE (this is a work in progress):\n\nfrom 7:30 pm  to 10:00 pm  
 or so, Greens,\nprogressives, and others who want to make Berkeley a\nmore 
 progressive place are welcome to stop by to talk,\nstrategize, learn and 
 listen. (for those who do not\nwant to see Berkeley become a more 
 progressive place,\ncome meet the people who will be working hard 
 to\nre-educate and oppose you.) [while the focus is on\nberkeley first and 
 on other east bay cities second,\nall are invited and encouraged to attend. 
 Please\nspread the word in 'frisco quietly and selectively as\nwe don't 
 want to be overrun by City slickers].\n\nfrom 10 pm -12:30 am, music, 
 music, music. please bring musical instruments and dancing shoes. from 
 10-11, there will be some structure with certain\nmusicians doing a song or 
 two. (if you want to do a\nset, please contact me asap.) then from 
 11-12:30, i am\nhoping that it will degenerate into a big jam session\nand
