DESCRIPTION:Journalist, poet, novelist and activist John Ross reports on his work 
 in\nthe occupied Palestinian territories, where he took part in 
 solidarity\nactions with Palestinian farmers in the shadow of the 
 Expansionist\nSeparation Wall and Zionist settlements built on expropriated 
 Palestinian\nland. During part of his stay he was hospitalized from 
 injuries from an\nattack by Israeli settlers as he was harvesting olives 
 with farmers in the\nvillage of Yanoun.\n\nRoss is one of the leading 
 writers on the Zapatista resistance in Chiapas\nand on Mexican politics. In 
 February, 2003, he was one of several hundred\nvolunteers who went to 
 Baghdad to be in solidarity with the Iraqi people.\nHis volumes of fiction, 
 nonfiction and poetry are published in English and\nSpanish, and he reports 
 regularly to the English and Spanish language\npress.\n\n
