DESCRIPTION:Menotti will speak on WTO, the Free Trade Area of the\nAmericas (FTAA), the 
 FTAA meeting taking place in Miami, Nov. 17-21, and the relationship of 
 U.S. foreign policy to terrorism.\n\nMenotti is Director of the Environment 
 Program at the\nInternational Forum on Globalization (IFG), a network 
 of\nresearchers, economists, writers, and activists from over 30 countries 
 formed to stimulate public debate on the many consequences of economic 
 globalization.\n\nMenotti's work has focused on unifying the leadership of 
 environment, labor, and human rights organizations to address 
 globalization's impacts, as well as working closely with emerging 
 international networks of farming, fishing, and  forest communities.\n\nThe 
 FTAA (sometimes referred to as NAFTA on steroids) is opposed by the 
 AFL-CIO, Global Exchange, Citizens Trade Campaign and many other
