free public lecture next week at Fort Mason in San Francisco on Friday,

 Directions to Herbst Pavillion are
 here\nhttp://www.fortmason.org/directions/index.html.\n\nThis is not a
concert. Brian Eno will be speaking about "The Long Now." His talk will be
the first of a monthly series of Seminars About Long-term\nThinking,
sponsored by The Long Now Foundation\n (http://www.longnow.org). His talks
are usually as amazing as his music.\n\nThe on-going lectures in this new
series will be every second Friday at Fort Mason. Future speakers include
Peter Schwartz, George Dyson, Laurie\nAnderson, Rusty Schweickart, Paul
Hawken, Daniel Janzen, & Danny Hillis.\n\nAdmission to the lectures is
free (a $10 donation is welcome but NOT required). The hall holds about 700
people. For unticketed lectures like this it's a good idea to come early
 for a good seat.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2004/02/03/26923.php
