the Culture of Violence chronicles the development of the world capitalist
economy through the theft of indigenous land and African labor. It
documents the genocide unleashed against the cosmopolitan, prosperous and
technologically advanced societies that populated the world prior to
Columbus' raid on the Americas. Working from the leadership of Omali
Yeshitela's writings and speeches, Hess introduces her readers to a road
less traveled by present-day historical revisionists as she chronicles the
heroic resistance movements of black people in the U.S. and the violent
white response to that resistance. Finally, she shares an optimistic vision
for the future, calling for "white people to be a part of the future
through reparations to African people" and calls on "white society to align
its interests with the rest of humanity and be part of building a world
free of oppression and violence." Well-documented and footnoted, this book
also provides an extensive bibliography for students of history, political
 economy and anti-colonial movements.\n\n\n\n
