DESCRIPTION:Using East Bay native plants that are naturally adapted to our local
 climate and that require very little water to thrive is an easy way to have
 a beautiful garden and conserve water, especially during the summer months.
 Join this hands-on workshop held in the teacher's Berkeley garden that is
 built from local native plants. The class will touch on many aspects of
 what is sometimes called “restoration gardening;” philosophy, planning
 and design, local plant sources, and home propagation. This class is led by
 two local landscape gardeners with many years’ experience: Lyn Talkovsky,
 an East Bay landscape gardener for ten years who specializes in local,
 native plants and Glen Schneider who, besides gardening, is writing a
 Natural History Field Guide to the East Bay. Class is held off-site;
 pre-registration is required. Cost: $15 Ecology Center members, $25
 general, low-income spots by arrangement. \n\n
