DESCRIPTION:The Bush administration's agricultural technology summit in Sacramento June
23-25 will push "free trade" and corporate agribusiness technologies on
government ministers from 180 different nations, but the public is not
invited. Come learn what's at stake and how activist groups are planning a
five-day festival of resistance. Tonight's program features a screening of
Fed Up! (58 min., 2002), a compelling film documentary that depicts the
struggle of small farmers against the industrial agribusiness juggernaut.
Leading activist Skip Spitzer of the Pesticide Action Network and local
filmmaker Angelo Sacerdote will be present to discuss the world food system
big picture, what's happening in Sacramento, and the implications for those
who care about food, social justice and the environment. 7PM, First
Unitarian Universalist Society of San Francisco. 1187 Franklin St (at
Geary). Doors open at 6:30PM. Suggested donation: $5. \n\nOrganized by the
