DESCRIPTION:Recently, San Francisco AI companies’ frontier AI models have likely
committed felonies under the Computer Fraud & Abuse Act. \n\nIn response,
the attorney general of Florida filed a temporary injunction against OpenAI
seeking a ban on new models without guardrails. \n\nIn response, New York
City is convening a rare council-wide hearing in which the CEOs of AI
companies will be asked to weigh in on proposed legislation.
\n\nMeanwhile, in the city of San Franciso, the ground zero of Frontier AI
development, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has done absolutely nothing.
\n\nInstead, she prosecutes nonviolent protesters that are sounding the
much needed alarm! \n\nAfter the conviction of a peaceful protester that
blocked the doors of Open AI, DA Jenkins said, "The jury’s verdict sends
a resounding message rejecting the notion that protesters can endanger
public safety as a means to an end.”\n\n
