DESCRIPTION:Join Fra Hughes, Director of Palestine Aid Ireland, as he recalls his
journey of activism with Palestine. From the violent streets of Belfast
where he grew up to being illegally abducted from the Global Sumud Flotilla
in May, 2026 under sniper sights by the IDF. From British colonial troops
on the ground in Ireland to zionist colonial troops on the ground in
Palestine, this story is one of occupation parallels and solidarity. Join
us as take a stroll with Fra on his Walk with Palestine from his first
convoy with George Galloway to Gaza in 2010, via his visits to the occupied
territories, Iran, Iraq, Venezuela, The Donbas, Syria, Lebanon and South
Africa, and his detention in Ketziot maximum security prison. Fra puts the
national liberation struggle into the international call for justice,
freedom and sovereignty.\n\nPresenter: \nFra Hughes is an activist and
humanitarian from Belfast, “Northern” Ireland. Born in 1963 and raised

participated in multiple aid convoys to Gaza, co-founded the charity
Palestine Aid (Ireland), and served as a volunteer on the Global Sumud
Flotilla 2026—where he was kidnapped at gunpoint in international waters
and imprisoned in Ketziot high-security prison. He lives in Belfast with
his partner Pauline and their two dogs. Kidnapped on the Global Sumud
Flotilla to Gaza 2026 is his first book.\n\n\n
