PANEL:\n\nLast year, Jennifer Raymond bought a 30-acre property next door
to Miranda’s Rescue, a Humboldt County no-kill animal sanctuary that she
had long believed killed dogs that it accepted for a fee. Along with her
animal advocate partner Jenna Moore, the two women set up trail cameras and
eventually snuck onto the neighboring property to dig up eight freshly
killed dogs.\n\nThey turned the bodies over to investigators, launching a
massive investigation into \nShannon Miranda and his nonprofit rescue that
is still ongoing. The clandestine mission and revelations have drawn
international headlines and were the subject of a three-part series in the
Chronicle by investigative reporter Matthias Gafni.\n\nOn September 23,
Raymond and Moore will join the Chronicle at Gray Area for a special
evening where they’ll speak live about their unbelievable
 operation.\n\nIn a conversation moderated by Chronicle Editor-in-Chief
Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, you’ll hear firsthand how the two women pulled off
one of the riskiest animal rescue missions of all time, and get an inside
look at how the Chronicle investigated the story with Gafni and
 photographer Stephen Lam.\n
