DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a short film screening, paper crane folding, and a 
 ceremony to mark the 81st anniversary of the U.S. bombing of 
 Hiroshima\n\nWe'll meet at 1 PM at RCNV to bear witness on the 81st 
 anniversary of the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.\n\nWe’re 
 honored to welcome Victor Kimura who will share his family’s stories from 
 the bombing at Hiroshima and U.S. internment camps. His mother and father, 
 born in Watsonville and Petaluma, respectively, were imprisoned in 
 Arizona’s Poston Camp during WWII, and returned to Freedom in 1945 when 
 Victor was just six months old.\n\nAfter Victor’s talk, we’ll:\n\n• 
 Watch Collateral Damage (a 35-minute RCNV documentary about our local 
 Hiroshima Peace Memorial)\n• Fold origami cranes with guidance and 
 cultural teachings from Robin Yamashiro West. Robin is a third generation 
 (Sansei) Japanese American and Hapa Haolie (mixed), which has given her a 
 unique perspective and ability to bridge different cultures.\n• March 
 together to lay our cranes at the memorial with a brief ceremony\n
