DESCRIPTION:Cuban people have suffered from the U.S.’s economic and other forms of
warfare for more than 65 years. President Trump not only put Cuba back on
the “State Sponsors of Terrorism” list but has\nmore recently sought to
blockade oil shipments to Cuba, exacerbating problems of Cubans gaining
access to electricity, food, and medicine. Professor Mark Ginsburg will
discuss the current state of affairs in Cuba and the resilience of the
Cuban people in the face of the U.S. government’s hostility. He will also
identify various campaigns that people in the U.S. can get involved in to
support the Cuban people and try to change U.S. policy toward Cuba\n\nMark
Ginsburg is a visiting scholar in the International Education Policy
program at University of Maryland (USA). He has traveled to Cuba and been a
Cuba solidarity activist since 1993, when he\nparticipated in the IFCO
Pastors for Peace caravan. Mark has traveled to Cuba 30+ times, including
spending two semesters (2017-2019) as a visiting professor at the
Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas and, most recently, participating in a
May Day brigade. He is active in the Bay Area Cuba Solidarity Network, the
Saving Lives Campaign, the International U.S.-Cuba Normalization Conference
Coalition, as well as the DSA International Committee’s Cuba Working
 Group.\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2026/04/26/18885856.php
