KINGS Day #1 (June 14, 2025) -- Human Banner, Ocean Beach, San Francisco,
2,500+ people spell it out. \n\nSINCE 2007, organizers Travis Van Brasch
and Brad Newsham and many friends have been hosting “human banner”
events in which hundreds (sometimes thousands) of attendees assemble
themselves inside the outlines of enormous images that are then filmed from
the air.\n\nThe Internet always feasts on the imagery from these events,
and the mainstream press often gorges itself, too. Already in 2025, three
events have been featured on ABC, CBS, "NBC Late Night with Seth Myers,"
Rachel Maddow, many more. The full list goes on and on, including scores of
newspapers on three continents: The San Francisco Chronicle, Guardian,
Washington Post, NY Times, LA Times, Irish Times. You know you've struck a
universal note when your work runs in the Hindustan Times! Or spends a week
as the lead photo on RollingStone.com (see photo below).\n\n\nIMPORTANT
NOTE:\n\nPEACEFUL EVENT: A core principle behind all No Kings events is a
commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to
de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our
values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including
those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.\n\n![HANDS OFF

aerial photo from our "HANDS OFF DEMOCRACY" event in April was the lead
image on RollingStone.com for a solid week, giving all 550-600 attendees
lifetime "cover of the Ro-ol-ling Stone..." bragging rights. ]\n\n![SETH
 MEYERS
 photo](https://parkrubinmedia.com/No-Kings-Art-Koch-DJI_0062_D.jpg)\n\n[ On
"NBC Late Night," host Seth Myers riffed for several minutes about how you
should "never piss off a city where half the population are expert graphic
designers." ]\n\n\nNOTE ON ACCESSIBILITY: \n\nMOBILITY ISSUES? Ten steep
stair steps lead from the sidewalk atop the sea wall down to the sand.
People with mobility issues have reported finding these stairs "tricky."
Some have decided to watch the proceedings from up on the sea wall instead
of going down to the sand. Other have gone down to the sand and enjoyed the
event from there, and everyone has always made is safely back up from the
 beach.\n\n https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2025/10/17/18880723.php
