DESCRIPTION:Join CODEPINK Congress as we educate, activate and mobilize for peace
legislation!\n\nAs Israel invades Rafah–threatening the lives of a
million Palestinians, South Africa returns to the International Court of
Justice (ICJ) to ask the World Court to order Israel to withdraw from Rafah
as part of additional emergency measures. \n\nBack in January, the World
Court, the highest judicial body of the United Nations, ordered Israel to
prevent genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and to punish incitement to
commit genocide, both treaty obligations under the UN Convention on
Genocide.\n\nIsrael ignored those orders. Now what?\n\nJoin us as we
discuss the latest developments in South Africa v. Israel, as well as UN
efforts to secure full voting membership for Palestine. \n\nSpecial
Guests\nFrancis Boyle is a professor of international law at the University
of Illinois College of Law. Boyle served on the board of Amnesty
International, as counsel to Bosnia and Herzegovina and to the Provisional
Government of the State of Palestine. He has represented two associations
of citizens within Bosnia and was involved in developing the indictment
against Slobodan Milosević for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war
crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also drafted the U.S. domestic
implementing legislation for the Biological Weapons Convention, known as
the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act of 1989, that was approved
unanimously by both Houses of the U.S. Congress and signed into law by
 President George H.W. Bush.\n\nSam Husseini is a Jordanian-Palestinian
independent journalist based in Washington, D.C, and the founder of
VotePact.org, which fosters left-right cooperation. He is also
communications director for the Institute for Public Accuracy, a consortium
of policy analysts. Husseini has written articles for the Nation, the
Washington Post, USA Today, Salon and CounterPunch. His latest articles on
Substack raise these questions, “Is the International Criminal Court
itself criminal? Are arrested student protesters the ones actually
upholding international law?” A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University,
Husseini earned a double bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and
 logic and computation\n
