DESCRIPTION:Participants will be taught basic skills to design, carve and handprint 
 imagery on rubber blocks. This workshop is open to adults.\n\nParticipate 
 in a series of creative workshops led by LA-based artists as part 
 of ‘Now or Never’ – an Education Lab created on the occasion of 
 Mexican-German artist Stefan Brüggemann’s first solo exhibition in LA 
 and in response to the artist’s desire to make a space to explore 
 ideas.\nThis month’s creative workshop, open to teens and adults, is led 
 by artist Karina Esperanza Yanez. Participants will explore the theme of 
 emotional duality by creating one handmade book that showcases stark visual 
 contrasts or opposites. Taking inspiration from Stefan Brüggemann’s 
 text-based works, participants will use basic bookbinding techniques and 
 mixed-media art to express conflicting emotions or ideas within their 
 book.\nThis workshop is free and open to participants 13 years and older. 
 Participants under 16 must be accompanied by adults. Space is limited; 
 reservations are required.\n
