DESCRIPTION:Rain is expected so we're postponing!\n \nWe were so looking forward to the 
 music and gathering in honor of the majestic trees on Lot 4 Saturday the 
 4th. However, with rain on the forecast, we are postponing the event so we 
 may be fully present when we do this.\n \nSome of us will still be there 
 for those who miss the memo and/or for anyone wishing to come chat under an 
 umbrella on a rainy day.\n \nPlease stay tuned for new date!\n \nExpress 
 your support for the trees!\n\nVisit the new Action Network page and write 
 Letters to City Council, asking them to incorporate some of these heritage 
 trees into the design on Lot 4:

 \nLot 4, Cedar Street, Santa Cruz\n\nThe City Council will make a final 
 decision on the Heritage tree appeal at its March 14th meeting or soon 
 thereafter. Let's ask them to save some of those trees on Lot 4! It's good 
 for the environment, good for Downtown, good for community. Enough with the 
 anti-tree crowd!\n\nPresently, developers plan to cut down 9 legally 
 protected Heritage trees once the building permit for the Library, Garage, 
 Affordable Housing project is issued. They have made no effort to preserve 
 any of the trees.  But 2 or 3 of these trees along Cedar Street can be 
 accommodated by slightly modifying the building design.\n\nPlease come to 
 the demonstration in favor of Saving Some Trees on Lot 4!\n\nMusic, 
 speakers, open mic, actions!\n\nExpress your support for the trees!\n\nThe 
 image at top shows the project with two Heritage liquidambars that can be 
 incorporated as part of a courtyard entrance to the Downtown 
 Library.\n\nOur Downtown, Our Future is participating in the Save Some 
 Trees Coalition that is organizing the demonstration.\n
