 Jahar Panahi has been arrested multiple times and in 2010 was convicted of

 country’s national security and propaganda against the Islamic Republic." 
 He was sentenced to 6 years in prison and banned for 20 years from making 
 or directing any movies. But he continued to direct while under house 
 arrest. In July '22, he was arrested again and is now in 
 prison.\nRevolution Books supports the courageous uprising in Iran sparked 
 by the murder of Mahsa Amini for wearing an “improper hijab.” For over 
 3 months, thousands of people throughout Iran have taken to the streets
