 many parts of the world, primarily due to their daily work in advocating 
 for human rights. \n\nWith the rise of the digital technologies, they are 
 exposed to new online threats, such as online sexual and gender-based 
 violence, smear campaigns, harassment and surveillance.\n\nThe event will 
 feature representatives from the EU, the US and the OHCHR as well as 
 prominent women human rights defenders. It will highlight threats faced by 
 women defenders online, best practices, and recommendations for governments
