DESCRIPTION:You're invited to attend a free weekly walking tour exploring the
intersection of social justice and real estate. \n\nThis week's edition
features the current debacle in Oakland where public school campuses are
being closed with the result that local citizenry are stressed to maintain
enrollment outside of private and charter schools. \n\nI just heard another
KPFA interview on the subject, and not a word spoken about treating the
value of the land beneath the people--including beneath the kids--as the
people's! Now, if the whole annual value of East Bay land were treated like
the community's, there wouldn't be a funding question. And there wouldn't
be a question about whether the hills and the flats, Oakland and Fremont
were sisters and brothers. \n\nSo this walk asks KPFA and Oakland public
schools advocates to answer the question, "Is the land the people's for the
purpose of funding self-determination?" \n\n"We know what the GOP and Trump
say," many Lefties and do-gooders remark,"but are you telling me the good
guys are silent about this particular question? And that they don't sound
off on it like Malcolm talking about what all revolutions are about? You
mean the good guys are going back in the alley, just like Malcolm said?
Hiding out from saying it's about land?"\n\n
