DESCRIPTION:For many, the urgent message of the YIMBY movement to "build, build, build 
 housing" in order to bring down rents has been at least temporarily mooted 
 by the fall in rents due to techies working from home.\nFor many, the 
 urgent charge of the NIMBY movement to preserve neighborhoods from 
 gentrification and spoliation has been at least temporarily mooted by the 
 cessation of "money" moving in.\n\nNow is the time for members of both 
 movements to meet in "the radical middle." Come along on a walking tour 
 that introduces and explores that middle place where social good is 
 recognized and private rights are extolled.\n\nWhile serving as a survey of 
 social movement history in San Francisco, the tour's chief ambition is to 
 introduce you to the magnificent role real estate tenure can play in 
 setting things right, meaning cleaning up the streets of San 
 Francisco.\n\nIn 1879, a San Francisco self-made social philosopher (nee 
 newspaperman), proposed upscaling the socialization of land values while 
 simultaneously down-sizing taxes on goods and services (and their 
 production).\n\nThe happy result would be, from a social perspective, 
 everyone being the per capita landlord of all the land, thus everyone 
 having a vested economic interest in their neighborhood, their city, their 
 county, their state, their nation. And the corollary to this would be 
 everyone being, compared to present governmental interference, free to 
 build, work, create without implicit or explicit dunning.\nFREE. Light rain
