DESCRIPTION:Learn to work with professional Digital Audio Work Station (DAW) Ableton 
 Live software and professional audio production equipment, while supporting 
 youth artists! No experience necessary, and all materials are 
 included.\n\nThese classes will meet in person at our youth and community 
 arts hub, [x]space, at 5137 Mission in the Excelsior on Tuesdays in July 
 from 6pm-8pm.\n\nIncluded materials: Miditech i2-mini 32 MIDI Keyboard 
 Controller. There is no material cost, but you can buy the midi controller 
 at the end.\n\nYou will need: a computer that can run Ableton Live 10 
 (system requirements). Or, use one of ours for the duration of the

 off\n\nAlfie Macias is Youth Art Exchange (YAX)'s faculty music production 
 and traditional percussion artist. He teaches Music Production after school 
 and in school at Leadership High School.\n\nAlfie Macias teaches music 
 production as well as Afro-Brazilian drumming and percussion ensemble. He 
 has studied and performed with noted percussionists Gamo Paz and Jorge 
 Alabe from Brazil, and locally with Carlos Aceituno, Zeke Neally and Kwaku 
 Dady as well as ensembles including Aguas de Bahia and Fogo Na Roupa. He is 
 an accomplished salsa dance instructor and also teaches with Loco Bloco, 
 the San Francisco Arts Education Project and Project Avary, a summer arts 
 camp for at-risk youth. Alfie was the musical director of both Loco Bloco & 
 is the musical director of the dance company Sambaxé. He and his drumming 
 students regularly collaborate with Sambaxé. Alfie has been with Youth Art 
 Exchange since 2006. He speaks Spanish and Portuguese.\n\n---\n\nThis event 
 supports Youth Art Exchange's [x]space arts hub. [x]space is an interactive 
 art making and exhibition space accessible to youth and community members 
 of all ages. The “x” in [x]space is related to exchange, 
 experimentation, Excelsior, and x as a variable. Visit us at the heart of 
 the Excelsior at 5137 Mission Street, at Mission & Geneva.\n\nTransformed 
 from a meat market (Chuck’s Market) that was shuttered for nearly a 
 decade, this space is focused on creative exchange between artists and 
 community. It is an active arts center by Youth Art Exchange with free 
 classes and programming for San Francisco public high school students, 
 workshops, a youth printshop, an art gallery, community meeting space, and
