At California Fraud Assessment Commission FAC To Call For Ouster of
Corrupt Former DIR Director Christine Baker & Investigation and Prosecution
by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra of Fraud on the people of
California\n\nThe disgraced former Director of the California Division of
Industrial Relations Christine Baker after resigning from the DIR was
appointed by former governor Jerry Brown to the Fraud Assessment
Commission. Her appointment has been unchallenged despite the financial
fraud by family members and the firing of DIR investigator Socorro Tongco
who was looking at nepotism, fraud and workplace bullying by DIR executive
Christine Baker.\n\nIn the 7 years that Christine Baker was the Director
of the Department of Industrial Relations she presided over and dictated
the devastating destruction of the Worker’s Compensation system that she
designed to save employers and insurance companies millions of dollars.
This so-called “reform” severally reduced the rights of injured workers
to receive compensation when evaluated by a physician that filed a
doctor’s first report of a workplace induced injury and recommended a
course of treatment and the degree and length of disability. On March 26th,
2019 the California State Auditor investigated Baker’s DIR directorship
and released a report that documented “gross misconduct” by Baker. She
also retaliated against a DIR investigation by Socorro Tongco who was
examining the nepotism. After suing the state for bullying and retaliation
by Christine Baker she negotiated a $250,000 settlement paid for by
California taxpayers for her illegal discharge.\n\nBaker had also hired her
daughter Julianna Baker with no experience or training who was paid and did
no work. The Auditor’s charge was that fraudulent nepotism or “gross
misconduct” was committed. When Baker suddenly resigned in March 2018 she
was quickly appointed to the California Fraud Commission by Governor Jerry
Brown and nothing was done to demand the repayment of $129,000 in pay based
on fraudulent timesheets submitted by Baker’s daughter Julianna Baker
while at the DIR. Current Governor Gavin Newsome has declined to say
whether Baker’s appointment will be revoked, whether the return of the
fraudulent pay will be sought, and whether the state’s Attorney General
Xavier Becerra will continue to refuse to investigate and prosecute
Christine Baker and her daughter Julianna Baker for criminal fraud. Any
regular rank and file state worker would have been prosecuted, convicted
and jailed but apparently, Christine Baker is above the law.\n \nBaker has
also formed a consulting company with (Baker and Welsh LLC) with former
California OSHA Chief Len Welsh to peddle influence among lawmakers and
regulators, She represents the insurance industry on the FAC
Commission.\n\nSpeakers at the press conference will connect the dots of
this systemic corruption and how it harmed the 18.5 million workers of
California including injured workers and how she has severely weakened
Cal-OSHA and protections for health and safety.\n\nPress Conference at 9:30
